Course Description
This class is for students who want to master the ability to describe volume, space and structure in their drawings from both observation and imagination. We will start with a review of linear perspective and drawing basic geometric solids in space. We will then learn to creatively combine and modify these simple forms to make drawings of complex objects, both man-made and natural, focusing on the explicit description of the object’s structure. We will then move to drawing interior spaces followed and a study of curvilinear perspective. Students need to have a basic competence in linear perspective.
Course Outline
Day 1: linear perspective and volumes review
Day 2: drawing of man-made object
Day 3: drawing of organic object
Day 4: drawing of an interior space
Day 5: curvilinear perspective
