Course Description

What happens during the process of a painting? How can a painting evolve from the start to the end in an unexpected way? 

Exploring the moment where the painter loses control and when the painting tells you what to do and invites you to discover what you didn’t know before.

Course Outline

Week 1 - Start your painting. The first decisions : subject, composition, meaning

Week 2 - Light and main chromatic choices.

Week 3 - Evolve in the process : feed the painting, bring  nuances, contrasts, use the backgroung. 

Week 4 - Stop using the model and let the painting interact with you. 

Course Materials

Material can be the one you feel confortable to work with. Oil, pastel or acrylic but a medium that allows to rework and re-invent the painting not watercolor where it’s impossible to make big alterations to the painting.
