Course Description

This five-week course will take you through different techniques painting animals. This is an opportunity to explore watercolor tools and have fun! We are going to paint animals wet into wet, for example a fox, cats and other animals.

Course Outline

Week 1 (May 27th, Wednesday) -

The first time we meet I will go through watercolor techniques and color combinations that are useful for our motifs. In the end of that lesson we will paint and practise some animals wet in wet and have fun.

Week 2 (June 4th, Thursday) -

The second lesson we will paint a green moose. I have painted this motif before in my online couses and live courses in Sweden. We will paint a green moose. Yes, you heard me right, a green moose. It will be fun. We are building up a background with a toothbrush and in the end we put in a green moose walking in the fields.

Week 3 (June 10th, Wednesday) -

The third motif is my favorite bird to paint "the Peregrine Falcon.” It's a great hunting bird, fast too and we shall interpret that in our own version. In the lesson we will explore the use of salt on the wings if you have never tried that. There are some details on the head that we will take some time for.

Week 4 ( June 18th, Thursday) -

The fourth lesson we paint cats and mice. This lesson is useful and we shall paint them without sketching.

Week 5 (June 24th, Wednesday) -

The fifth and last lesson we shall paint elephants with only three colors. It's a challenge, but fun too. We will explore the techniques more from the first lesson and paint them one by one and together.

Sketchbook - Projects

I also have a sketchbook to paint in, and this is for the waiting time when some parts of a painting have to dry. I have chosen three motifs, like a bear, a smaller bird and a blue dog. It will be fun to paint them, if not all of them!
