Workshop Description
Tired of muddy paintings? Struggling to control your color mixtures? In this 3-hour intensive workshop, you’ll learn how to see color more accurately and mix with clarity and confidence.
We'll cover essential, practical strategies to improve your perception of color, gain control of your palette, and avoid common mixing pitfalls. Whether you’re building foundational skills or refining your technique, this workshop will sharpen your eye and strengthen your use of color in painting.
Workshop Materials List
Paint surface appropriate to medium (canvas, paper, gessoed paper, panel, etc)
Palette (Glass, plastic, disposable, or wood, preferably grey or wood-toned)
Palette knife (Spade or trowel shape – small and medium size)
Array of Brushes (recommend filberts sizes 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
Solvent (if working with oils)
Rags or Paper towels
Paint colors (oil, acrylic, or gouache):
Titanium or Flake White
Cad Yellow Light
Yellow Ochre
Cad Red Light or Cad Red Medium or Naphthol Red
Alizarin Crimson, Quinacridone Red, or Thalo Rose
Chromium Oxide Green or Terra Vert
Viridian Green Or Phthalo Green
Ultramarine Blue or Phthalo Blue
Cerulean or Sevres Blue
Ivory Black
