Course Description
Throughout the five weeks, students will complete a series of enlarged master copies from carefully selected details in Vermeer’s paintings. Each study will be painted approximately two to four times larger than the original to allow close observation of the artist’s handling of paint, edges, color, and light.
The purpose of these copies is not to reproduce a finished painting, but to understand how Vermeer constructed the illusion of light and form through simple, deliberate decisions
